 It is key to know all your rights and successfully advocate for your child.  This is best done the first time you pursue an IEP, but can be optimized at ANY time thereafter.  The proper IEP will ensure that your child's entire school career is better supported!  

• There are differences between medical and educational assessments? 
•  You have the right to request an evaluation for your child at any time?
• You have the right to request an independent assessment if an appropriate assessment cannot be provided by the school district in an appropriate timeframe?  
• Your public school must provide assessment even if your child is not enrolled there?
• The school system is only designed to meet a subset of supports your child might need?  Our coaches can help you find the other resources.
